Leslie Tempest BScPT. CEO, Physiotherapist, Owner/Operator
Leslie Tempest, BScPT is a registered physiotherapist with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario. She graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1992. She has practiced in a variety of fields and locations including a 3 year stint in England. Her experience is varied but has primarily focused in an out-patient environment and in private practice since 1996. Over the years she has taken many post-graduate training courses and has developed an interest in biomechanics, manual therapy and preventative education. She also enjoys working with dancers and athletes to overcome injury and develop improved training programs for strength development and injury prevention. She is also fully trained in the McKenzie method of mechanical diagnosis and therapy. She became the owner/operator of her own clinic in 1999 and it now operates as ProActive Rehab & Sport Injury Centre!
When Leslie is not engaged in the practice of physiotherapy or the development of her clinic she is mother to two great kids, Kira and Will and pursues fitness through swimming, cycling, running (and yes, triathlons!) as well as family camping, skiing, & snowshoeing. She also has a significant back ground in dance and has often been seen moonlighting as a dancer/singer in local community theater! She thanks Scott, her ever supportive husband, for all he does.

Janet Srutwa. Administrative Assistant
Janet Srutwa, BA is the Administrative Assistant at ProActive Rehab & Sport Injury Centre. A Huntsville resident for the past 15 years, she has been an invaluable member of the ProActive Rehab team since 2001. As a graduate of Ryerson Polytechnic in Business Administration she worked at Xerox Canada, Cannon and locally at Dairy Lane Dental. She has gained much experience in customer service and facilitation of a smoothly operating front desk. Since joining ProActive Rehab she has taken further courses in management and customer service. Her main goal is to go beyond your expectations to make your experience with us as easy and pleasant as possible.
Outside her professional role, Janet enjoys fitness, cycling, X-country skiing and spending time outdoors with her energetic dog, George Micheal!
Alana Ruthven RMT. Registered Massage Therapist
Alana Ruthven is a Registered Massage Therapist and member of the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. Alana graduated with honors from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in North York in 1996. She has spent the past 13 years providing therapeutic massage at multi-disciplinary clinics in Brampton and Georgetown. In 2008 Alana moved with her family from Halton Hills to Huntsville where she joined the ProActive Rehab team.
Over the years in private practice, Alana has gained experience treating clients with a variety of musculoskeletal conditions including whiplash, sport injuries, arthritis, repetitive strain and tension headache. She regularly participates in continuing education courses and has a special interest in conditions affecting the upper back and neck.
When she is not practicing her craft she enjoys an active outdoor lifestyle with her husband and 2 daughters. Together they enjoy cycling, hiking, skiing and horseback riding.

Heather Potts BScOT. Occupational Therapist
Heather Potts, BHSc.OT, OT Reg.(Ont.) is a registered Occupational Therapist with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. She is a graduate of McMaster University and has worked in private practice since 1990, primarily with motor vehicle accident and work related injuries. She has a unique specialty in the prevention and treatment of acute and chronic pain and the assessment and treatment of acquired brain injuries. She has been qualified as an expert witness in Ontario courts. Her extensive clinical and teaching experience ensures high quality, cost efficient Occupational Therapy services.
When Heather is not engaged in her role as an occupational therapist she enjoys gardening, reading, traveling and spending time with her husband Steve, their 3 daughters and their friends.

Stella Barnett-Wlash BSc, BScPT, CAT. Physiotherapist, Athletic Therapist
Following completion of her Bachelor of Science in Anatomy and Human Biology in 1998, Stella completed a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy in 2001, and an Advanced Certificate in Athletic Therapy in 2006. Stella is a Physiotherapist, registered with the Ontario College of Physiotherapy. In addition, she is a Certified Athletic Therapist, registered with the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association. Stella previously worked as a Senior Physiotherapist in her home country of England and immigrated to Canada in 2005.
Stella has taken continuing education programs in Manual Therapy, Acupuncture, Soft Tissue Release, and Therapeutic Horse Back Riding. She strongly believes in the importance of active rehabilitation to assist clients in achieving their therapeutic goals. Stella has a special interest in the rehabilitation of lower limb injuries and athletes. She has worked as the therapist for several sports team, including hockey, football, soccer and rugby, ranging from high school to elite level athletes. Stella was also a senior coach for a varsity trampoline team in England.
In her free time, Stella enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, camping, and training her two dogs. She is excited to be continuing her career in her new home town of Huntsville!

Jo-Anne Dunk CALA. Exercise Instructor
Jo-Anne Dunk is a personal trainer, group exercise instructor, and aquatic fitness leader. She has 13 years in the fitness industry and is certified with CanFitPro and CALA (Canadian Aquafit Leadership Alliance). She uses this training and experience to provide quality facilitation and instruction for the aquatic (Aquatherapy & Healing Waters) and cardiac (Healthy Heart Exercise Program) programs offered by ProActive Rehab & Sport Injury Centre. In her personal life she takes fitness seriously and practices what she preaches! As an avid road cyclist and swimmer, she is inspired to help other people find strength with fitness.

Caryn Winterbottom. Rehab Assistant
Caryn is a life long Muskoka resident. Her friendly smile and cheerful attitude will be familiar to many people as she has over 25 years experience working with the public.
Caryn has a strong dedication to providing compassionate care with special focus on the individual. “Every client should be made to feel as if they are the only client, and should feel comfortable in the knowledge that they are my first priority. I enjoy being a rehab assistant because a constantly changing routine keeps me sharp and allows me to experience something new everyday. I also enjoy having the opportunity to learn new skills.”
In her spare time, Caryn enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She is an avid motorcyclist and can often be found during the summer months touring Muskoka’s beautiful back roads.
